Hope Harvey

Head Veterinary Technician

Hi, my name is Hope, I am a veterinary technician here at the hospital. I grew up in a small country town, working in animal care fields starting from a young age. I am always surrounded by wildlife, living within a forest, and grew up with Rottweilers and fish in our family home; love for animals has never been hard for me. I always wanted to incorporate animals within my adult life as well, and to continue my growth and knowledge by providing the best quality care to all animals in any way I can. In the open spots of my busy schedule, I paint animals and landscapes for my online gallery, pursuing more creative endeavors.

Ally Pentz

Ally Pentz

Veterinary Technician

Hey, my name is Ally! I work as a veterinary technician here at VPAH, I'm also a 4th year student studying at the University of Toronto. For my entire life, I've grown up around animals, many being my own pets, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, a bird, rats, fish, and a hermit crab! I also volunteer at a farmed animal sanctuary and have previously worked there as an on-site caregiver. I've always wanted to work in a veterinary clinic where I have the opportunity to build on my experience giving back to animals. Being a pet owner, I understand how special our fur babies are and the importance of giving them the best care possible.

Maral Derohan

Maral Derohan

Veterinary Assistant

Hi, my name is Maral and I’m a Veterinary Assistant at VPAH. I have recently completed my Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology at the University of Toronto and I’m working towards pursuing my dream of becoming a Veterinarian. I have always gravitated towards animals from a young age, and my passion for animal healthcare has only gotten stronger as I’ve gotten older. Working with animals means no day is the same as the last and that’s what I love most about this field! I also have a 12 year old toy Maltese named Boujour (meaning “tiny” in Armenian), and his name is still fitting 12 years later. When I’m not working, I enjoy camping as part of a scouting group, as well as traveling.

Avery Jones

Avery Jones

Veterinary Assistant

Hey! My name is Avery and I work as a Veterinary Assistant at VPAH. I started working here in August of 2022 after graduating from the Animal Care program at Durham College. I grew up with 2 cats, fish, adopted 2 dogs in 2018, and recently adopted a puppy! I've always loved animals and knew I wanted to work with them from a very young age. Since I've been around animals for as long as I can remember, I have learned the importance of treating every pet I meet as my own. In my free time I enjoy playing with my dogs, watching Netflix, and going up North to my cottage in the summer. I hope to continue learning about animal care to improve my skills and advance in the Veterinary field.
